New Office of Civil Rights & Title IX Created to Centralize Reporting and Investigations of Discrimination
The University of Missouri is creating a new office called the Office for Civil Rights & Title IX to centralize reports and investigations of discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, genetic information, disability or veteran status.

Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the citizens of Paris. We are deeply saddened, shocked and grieved by these abhorrent acts of violence.
Social media posts expressing dismay that the tragedy in Paris is diverting media attention from events at the University of Missouri are being made by individuals from outside the Mizzou community in an attempt to create conflict.
Although some people may perceive that Mizzou is in turmoil and what is happening here is negative, I want to tell you that it is not! We are proud of our students. They are passionate and committed. They care deeply about this place. What is currently happening at Mizzou is not turmoil; nor is it negative. The student activism this fall at Mizzou is positive.

These attempts to obtain your personal information may come in various forms, including through “phishing” attempts (via email) or through anonymous phone calls.

I am humbled and honored to serve as interim president of the University of Missouri System. It is a challenging time for our university, a time full of change and mixed emotions including confusion, concern, anxiety, anticipation, and hope.
MU is committed to the First Amendment, free speech, academic freedom, and the robust exchange of ideas and knowledge. MU is also committed to its principles of non-discrimination and its four core values.
The University of Missouri Board of Curators today announced the appointment of former University of Missouri-Columbia Deputy Chancellor Mike Middleton as interim president of the University of Missouri System.
Last night, a vandal spray-painted over a portion of the MU Gaines-Oldham Black Culture Center (GOBCC) building’s sign. No students or staff were present in the building at the time.

As a valued partner in your student's safety, we wanted to share with you, below, the following message that was sent to students this morning regarding campus safety and the recent social media threats.
Our campus has experienced significant turbulence, and many within our community have suffered threats against their lives and humanity. These threats are reprehensible.
Last night there was a threat made on social media that campus and law enforcement addressed immediately,and working through the night, apprehended the alleged perpetrator.
