The MU Life Science Business Incubator helps launch startup companies based on faculty and student innovations and also recruits young companies to Columbia to collaborate with MU researchers. For example, Shasun, an international pharmaceutical company based in India has joined MU nanomedicine experts in developing a cancer treatment that uses gold nanoparticle technology.

During fiscal years 2015-17, MU’s Extension Business Development Program generated $2.43 billion in economic impact for the Missouri economy, helping clients increase sales by $1.1 billion, gain $1.17 billion in government contracts and create 29,021 jobs.
